Article Types

The Al-Turath Journal of Scientific Reviews (ATJSR) is primarily dedicated to publishing scholarly review articles that critically evaluate, synthesize, and interpret existing scientific evidence in the medical, biological, agricultural, environmental, physiological, and life sciences. Manuscripts should provide more than a descriptive summary of previous literature and are expected to offer critical analysis, identify gaps in current knowledge, clarify areas of scientific agreement or controversy, and propose meaningful directions for future research. The journal welcomes Systematic Reviews that address clearly defined research questions using transparent and reproducible methods for literature identification, selection, appraisal, and synthesis. Meta-Analyses are encouraged when appropriate quantitative data are available and should include suitable statistical synthesis, assessment of heterogeneity, and evaluation of potential sources of bias. Scoping Reviews may be submitted when the objective is to map the extent, characteristics, concepts, and gaps within a broad or emerging field. Narrative Reviews are also considered when they provide a structured, critical, and authoritative synthesis of a scientifically important topic rather than a simple descriptive overview. ATJSR additionally publishes Mini-Reviews, which provide concise evaluations of focused and rapidly developing subjects; Umbrella Reviews, which synthesize evidence from multiple systematic reviews and meta-analyses; and State-of-the-Art Reviews, which critically examine the most recent advances, unresolved questions, and future directions within an important scientific field.

All review articles must demonstrate scientific relevance, originality of synthesis, appropriate use of the available literature, and a clear contribution to the understanding of the subject.
