About the Journal
The Al-Turath Journal of Physiology (AJP) welcomes high-quality original research, reviews, short communications, and other scholarly contributions that advance knowledge across the broad fields of physiology and pathophysiology. The journal aims to provide an international platform for studies that elucidate novel physiological mechanisms, principles, interactions, and regulatory processes underlying normal biological function and disease.
AJP considers research spanning multiple levels of biological organization, including molecular, cellular, tissue, organ, and integrated systems physiology. The journal particularly encourages investigations that connect fundamental physiological mechanisms with whole-organism function and that improve understanding of the complex interactions among physiological systems. The journal welcomes studies in human, animal, and comparative physiology, including experimental models that provide new insights into physiological regulation, adaptation, and disease mechanisms. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, gastrointestinal, endocrine, reproductive, neurophysiology, musculoskeletal, metabolic, immunophysiological, and exercise physiology, as well as environmental, developmental, and aging-related physiological adaptations. Particular emphasis is placed on clinical, experimental, and translational physiology. Studies investigating the physiological basis of disease, biomarkers of altered physiological function, mechanisms of pathogenesis, therapeutic responses, and the translation of experimental discoveries into clinical applications are strongly encouraged.
The journal also welcomes interdisciplinary research integrating physiology with molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, pharmacology, genetics, biotechnology, neuroscience, sports science, veterinary science, and biomedical sciences, provided that the work makes a clear contribution to physiological knowledge. Through the publication of rigorous and innovative research, the Al-Turath Journal of Physiology seeks to strengthen the understanding of physiological function across species and biological systems and to promote discoveries that contribute to the advancement of health, disease prevention, diagnosis, and therapeutic science.
